Boryszew : in Formula 3

Boryszew Group, the largest Polish manufacturer in the automotive industry, supports the Polish racer Alex Karkosik, who races in Formula 3. 2017 has proved to be a breakthrough year for his career. The 17-year-old, as the youngest driver in the season, has entered Formula 3 competition, in which he has stood on the podium already several times this season. His car, apart from the sign of Boryszew Capital Group, features a logo of Boryszew Automotive Plastics and Maflow - the companies within the Group that make up its automotive segment. This ensures international promotion and the companies' presence in the world media.

Alex Karkosik started his sport career at the age of 6. His first start took place in 2006 in Bydgoszcz, during the North-West Zone Championships. Alex raced karts until 2014, winning many trophies during national competitions. He started in Italian and German championships at the same time. In 2015, he switched to Formula 4 car, and began starting in Italian races of this class (Formula 4 Italian Championship), as well as in the Central European Zone Championships (Formula 4 CEZ). Still in 2017, he started in Formula Gulf, although the aerodynamics of his car, weighing as little as 400 kg, and powered by engine with power output of 180PS, were already similar to Formula 3. Alex finished the season at the top of the table - he took part in 10 races in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and found himself on the top step of the podium 5 times.

In March 2017, Alex Karkosik successfully completed the tests in Euroformula Open in Jerez, Spain. He took 12th place, but was just 1.5secs behind the winner, so he competed in a remarkably strong group, where the track record was reset as many as six times during the tests. Since April 2017, he has made his debut in Euroformula Open races as the youngest Pole, racing in the colours of the Italian RP Motorsport team. In subsequent races, he was getting better and better results - he was 10th in Estoril, Portugal, he took 3rd place in the Rookie category at the Hungaroring track, Hungary, and in Silverstone, Great Britain, he stood on the podium in general classification, finishing the race in 3rd place. At Monza, Italy, the racer from Toruń ended the race in 4th place in general classification, and in 3rd place among the rookies. At the Spanish track in Jerez de la Frontera, he finished both races in the penultimate round of the Euroformula Open series in the 7th position. On the last weekend of October, the racer from Toruń will compete with the other drivers in the Euroformula grand final in Barcelona, and the future of his sport career looks really promising.
