CarMax Grand Opens In Gainesville, Florida

Company Celebrates with Community Donations

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (May 14, 2015) - CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation's largest retailer of used cars, officially opened its first store in Gainesville, Florida, located at 4185 North Main Street. The store is more than 40,000 square-feet, occupies more than 12 acres and stocks more than 150 used vehicles.

In celebration of the Gainesville store opening, CarMax donated $2,500 to the Gainesville Fisher House. Gainesville CarMax associates selected this nonprofit for its support of America's Armed Forces, veterans, and their families by offering free accommodations and support during a medical crisis. CarMax associates recently volunteered at a Gainesville Fisher House cookout where they prepared food for 25 guests.

The CarMax Foundation also is providing a $10,000 grant to the North Central Florida YMCA to fund the YMCA READS! program. This program will serve approximately 200 underserved and at-risk students and provide at least two 60-minute tutoring sessions per week to improve their literacy. With support from The CarMax Foundation, the YMCA will launch the program during their summer camp and make it a staple of their year-round childcare department. This grant also came at the recommendation of Gainesville CarMax associates. The CarMax Foundation has granted more than $25 million on behalf of associates across the country since 2003.

"CarMax associates are committed to making a positive impact by serving the communities where we live and work," said David Pressly, location general manager of Gainesville CarMax. "We are excited to build relationships with these great community partners while bringing the unique no-haggle and worry-free CarMax experience to Gainesville."
