The Carrefour Italia Hypermarkets of Nichelino and Carugate have won two international awards, as 'Most sustainable Shopping Centre' by CommONEnergy and as winner of the 'Retail Architecture' category by the German Design Council, respectively.

The Carrefour Hypermarket of via Cacciatori 111 in Nichelino (TO) received an award as the best sustainable shopping centre within the framework of the international SBChallenge, organised by CommONEnergy, a research project funded by the European Union for the purpose of studying sustainable solutions from an environmental and social point of view for places symbolic of modern consumption. By winning the award for its project for restructuring the shopping centre in the 'Hyper Malls' category, the Nichelino Carrefour Hypermarket has achieved the objectives set by the SBChallenge.

The Carrefour Italia Hypermarket of Carugate (MI), on the other hand, received the German Design Award in the 'Architectural Retail' category, whose aim is to highlight the most important design projects in each economic sector. The Carugate Hyupermarket, designed by Retail Design, was the first sales outlet of the French Group to open in Italy in 1972 and recently inaugurated a new business model which combines tradition and new technologies, and opens up a new shopping experience.
