Carrefour : Simply You Box has arrived!

After conclusive trials in October 2016, Carrefour will become the first retailer in Belgium to officially launch its meal box formula, the Simply You Box. The principle is the same: wherever possible, quality, fresh, seasonal, Belgian ingredients. New recipes that take users' comments into consideration and simplified conditions to speed up collection from the 85 stores with collection points.

Last autumn, Carrefour tested the on-line sale of meal-boxes named the 'Simply You Box'. The Simply You Box customer satisfaction survey carried out by Carrefour showed that the initiative was very well received and fulfilled customers' needs.

As a result, Carrefour decided officially to launch its Simply You Box on 3 March with slightly modified conditions and offerings to make its customers' lives easier and as far as possible match their tastes in food.

Choice of 9 recipes each week
The Simply You Box offers 9 different balanced menus each week:
- 3 traditional recipes
- 3 recipes for hearty meals with family or friends
- 3 vegetarian recipes

The meals are always easy to prepare (maximum 30 minutes) and comprise just the right amount of fresh, healthy, seasonal and, wherever possible, Belgian products. The vegetarian offering was reassessed following October's test month. It is now more elaborate, but always just as quick to prepare.
The boxes are available for two or four people. Besides the ingredients, they always contain a clear and comprehensive instructions for preparation (quantities and cooking times). As during the trials, consumers can watch the video for each recipe on their tablet or smart-phone using the QR code on the sheet. This service was very successful in October.

By way of reminder, the Simply You Box contains the right quantities of all the ingredients required to prepare the recipe, not including typical spices and cooking products. These extra ingredients are carefully listed in the description of each recipe. If customers have run out of these ingredients, they can be ordered in just a few clicks at the same time as the Simply You Box. Finally, sommelier of the year 2015/2016, Benoît Couderé, also suggests an ideal bottle of wine to go with the dish selected.

Collect your box even more quickly.
Payment is made when finalising the order (by customers' choice of bank card). If customers have a Carrefour Bonus Card Bonus Points will be calculated in the usual way.
This small difference from last autumn's trials (where boxes were paid for when collected) was introduced due to user request. Advance payment in fact saves time when collecting the box from the store.
The price of the Simply You Box for 2 people is €40 (which is €6.67 per meal) and the box for 4 people is €60 (€5 per portion). Unlike other operators, there is no obligation to take out a subscription or commit to a specific period of time to order the Carrefour Simply You Box. The cherry on the cake: customers will receive a €10 discount (by using the promo code 'START10') on their first order.

All three formats available all over the country
Last October, during the trial, nine stores had Simply You Box collection points. Now customers can go and collect their meal box from 85 stores located all over the country. The network will be further extended over coming weeks. Carrefour is also studying the possibility Simply You Box home delivery.
And Carrefour will continue regularly to consult users to keep up with their new expectations and tastes.
