MINNEAPOLIS - July 14, 2015 - CenterPoint Energy will perform planned pipeline inspection work on a natural gas pipeline located near Highway 13 and Cedar Avenue in Eagan, July 14 through July 30.While the testing will not pose a threat to the public, a flame may be visible at intermittent times and a loud roaring noise may be heard throughout the process. The majority of the work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. however, this time frame could be extended to complete particular tests.

"Safety is our number one priority and we are making every effort to reduce any inconvenience to area residents and businesses," said Tod Norgren, construction manager for CenterPoint Energy. "We don't expect natural gas service to be interrupted nor do we anticipate any traffic disruptions. Our crews will be closely monitoring the entire project area."

The inspection device records data on the condition of the pipeline and ensures it is compliant with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline Integrity Program and the Office of Pipeline Safety.

"We have notified local emergency responders and appreciate their cooperation," added Norgren.
