CenterPoint Energy wins top national energy efficiency award for achieving greatest energy savings

MINNEAPOLIS - November 4, 2014 - E Source recently recognized CenterPoint Energy's Minnesota energy efficiency program for achieving the greatest energy savings in the nation as a percentage of its natural gas sales (1.16 percent).   This result surpassed the company's state-approved energy savings goal.   E Source presented the award to CenterPoint Energy at its annual E Source Forum in Denver last month.
"CenterPoint Energy is extremely grateful and honored that E Source has presented us with this award," said Doug Peterson, Senior Director of Sales and Conservation Improvement Programs for CenterPoint Energy.  "We thank our customers who participated in our energy conservation programs last year, thereby producing the energy savings that both lowered their natural gas bills and their impact on the environment. And, we congratulate all of the hard-working vendors, trade allies and CenterPoint Energy employees who contributed to this great result."
"Energy efficiency and support for projects that reduce energy use help people in our communities save money, while also lowering greenhouse gas emissions," added Nick Mark, Manager of Conservation and Renewable Energy Policy for CenterPoint Energy.   "This is a notable recognition of CenterPoint Energy's commitment to conservation and our continuing efforts to help our customers make their homes and businesses more energy-efficient."
