Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange (SHPGX), a national energy trading center, officially opened for business on November 26, a step further toward China's market-oriented reform of energy. Wang Yupu, Chairman of Sinopec Group, attended and addressed the opening ceremony of SHPGX's formal operation.

Sinopec Chairman Wang Yupu said that as one of SHPGX's stakeholders, Sinopec will fully support the business of SHPGX, and promote the expansion of its trading volume, optimization of trading structure and improvement of mechanism, striving for greater influence on international energy market.

The center was established in March 2015, with ten stakeholders, including Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC and China Economic Information Service (CEIS). Trial operations started in July 2015.
