Chorus fault restoration performance

Chorus has today provided an update on its fault restoration performance as at 8 June, 2017.

As a commitment to transparency, Chorus will provide the latest weekly figures every week throughout winter.

Fault restoration across the country continues to perform well, with the average time to restore going from 25.6 hours last week to 23.4 hours yesterday.

As part of the work to prepare for winter, more than 100 additional copper technicians have been recruited, a vigorous proactive maintenance programme has been completed, and more technicians are available at weekends.

Chorus' website includes a network outage checker (https://outages.chorus.co.nz/) which people can use to see if there is an outage in their area. The tool gives an overview of the outage and estimated restoration times.

Fault restoration performance month to date at 8 June, 2017:

- Faults logged with Chorus: 8379
- Faults restored month to date: 8464
- Average time to restore: 23.4 hours
