Campaign group London Citizens, a part of national community organising charity Citizens UK has released an affordable homes 'league table' for the capital London. The table presents the percentages of affordable homes built over the five years by eight biggest housing providers.

Countryside with the score of 48% has been ranked number one house builder of affordable homes among the top eight housing developers. The list included Qatari Diar/Delancey, Bellway Homes, Mount Anvil, Barratt Homes, Telford, Berkley Homes and Taylor Wimpey.

Matthew Bolton, Deputy Director, Citizens UK said: 'We want to see all developments in London fulfil the criteria of having at least 35% affordable homes. Housing remains a huge issue for Londoner's and we need action to avoid more communities being damaged and broken by poor and unaffordable housing provision', he added.

Richard Cherry, Chief Executive Partnerships in Countryside said: 'We have a unique ethos and we are very proud to be delivering affordable homes in partnership with local councils, housing associations and our business partners'.

We are committed to increase the housing supply, build more homes in the places where they are most needed and to help communities thrive', he concluded.
The figures have been cross-referenced against public planning application websites and industry data to discover the percentage of affordable homes.
