A rejuvenated Norris Green estate has become a 'hotspot' for Liverpool's first time buyers, as young house hunters snap up new homes at The Avenue, NGV Liverpool.

Since its launch in 2011, Countryside's award winning NGV Liverpool scheme has played a key role in the regeneration of the area, with over 90 families securing their new homes in the past 12 months alone.

Due to complete in late November, Joe Edwards (24) and Alisha Mohamad (28) are the latest buyers to benefit from the area's impressive renovation.

Joe, who works as a Sales Representative for a shipping company, commented: 'I grew up near the area so I remember how it used to be. We only really went to NGV Liverpool to have a look around but I was amazed by the transformation of the estate, it looks and feels completely different now. The new homes have really helped to change the perception of the area, which is great.'

Shortly after the arrival of their son Joseph, the pair reserved a 3-bedroom Longford home at the popular Liverpool development, whilst taking advantage of the Help to Buy scheme.

Joe added: 'We were originally looking to buy an older home, but the specification of the Longford at NGV was too good to pass up. It's ready to move into and offers so much more than any other properties that we looked at, including integrated appliances and upgraded flooring. It really stood out amongst other new-build developments nearby, as well as older homes that would require much more work to really make it our own.

'In my opinion, Help to Buy is a great initiative for younger buyers like ourselves as it's helping make homeownership more attainable. With us looking at older homes we were initially aiming for a 10% deposit, so 5% was definitely a welcome surprise!'
