SOUTH OXHEY CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT: RESIDENTS GET THE KEYS TO THEIR NEW HOME

The first Phase of the area's development is complete, with residents now moving into their new homes on Hallowes Crescent and Maylands Road.

Countryside is working with Home Group and Three Rivers District Council as part of the ongoing redevelopment of South Oxhey Central, following the acquisition of properties on The Parade and St Andrews Road in 2017.

Residents remained in their homes whilst works on Hallowes Crescent and Maylands Road progressed. But with the completion of 48 properties in Phase 1, many residents have now moved into their contemporary new homes.

Brian Ham, Executive Director of Development at Home Group, said: 'Having worked hard with our partners Countryside and Three Rivers District Council to finish the first phase of this project on time, we're delighted to welcome the first wave of residents into their newly built homes.

The 48 new homes in this phase, are all for social rent, and range from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses, in line with the housing needs we've identified in the area.

'Work will begin on the resultant vacant flats at The Parade and St Andrews Road, in phase two of the regeneration programme, which begins in April 2018. The whole project will create 514 new homes, plus a range of new shops, and public spaces.'

Daniel King, Development Director for West London at Countryside Partnerships South, added: 'The development of South Oxhey is providing improved spaces, services and employment opportunities within a thriving community. The first residents moving into homes at Hayling Place marked an important milestone for the South Oxhey initiative and we look forward to building on this momentum, starting on site with Phase 2 in spring next year.'

This Phase will provide a further 174 homes, with completion on these properties expected by spring 2020. Works on the remaining homes will then begin, with this final phase expected to be complete by the end of 2022.
