This year's record is a result of the upward trend in business operations of Croatia Airlines, the expansion of network flights and the opening of new routes to attractive European destinations, which has come out of the successful completion of the restructuring program.

Zagreb, 15 July, 2016

Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national carrier and member of Star Alliance, today, recorded its one millionth passenger. This year's jubilee passenger is Suzana Brenko, and she was recorded on scheduled flight OU 663 from Dubrovnik to Zagreb.

This year's one millionth passenger was recorded earlier than ever in the company's history. The previous record was set on July 18, 2012, but this year, the one millionth passenger was recorded three days earlier than in 2012, and even 12 days earlier than last year.

After landing at one-forty in the afternoon, the one millionth passenger of Croatia Airlines was welcomed at the Zagreb International Airport byBoris Kolka, Sales and Marketing Director of Croatia Airlines, who congratulated her and presented her with a prize - two complimentary return business class tickets for one of Croatia Airlines' destinations (passenger's choice).

Zagreb International Airport also awarded the jubilee passenger of Croatia Airlines with premium service upon departure and arrival on Croatia Airlines' flight of her choice, as well as her travel companion. The award was given out by Isabelle Dubois, Director of Commercial Affairs and Marketing of the Zagreb International Airport, who said:

- Congratulations to Croatia Airlines, our largest business partner, on the record numbers in passenger traffic recorded by Zagreb International Airport during this year's summer timetable.

This year's record is a result of the upward trend in business operations of Croatia Airlines, the expansion of network flights and the opening of new routes to attractive European destinations, which has come out of the successful completion of the restructuring program.

To remind you, in May of this year, Croatia Airlines expanded its network of outgoing flights by connecting Zagreb with direct flights to Lisbon, Milan, Prague and St. Petersburg.

This season, Croatia Airlines' aircraft are directly connecting the Republic of Croatia with 35 European destinations in 21 countries, as well as with eight Croatian airports (Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula, Osijek, Rijeka and Bol on the Island of Brač).

Also, it is expected that in the course of 2016, the total number of Croatia Airlines' passengers will be about 4 percent higher than in the period January - July 2015.

It is expected that in 2016, the aircraft of the Croatian national carrier will transport approximately 1,970,000 passengers, or about 6 percent more compared to last year.

Since the first flight in 1991 until today, Croatia Airlines' aircraft have transported a total of 32,758,000 passengers, more than 22,670,000 of which have been passengers on international flights, and about 10,085,000 on flights within Croatia.

The fleet comprises thirteen aircraft: four Airbus 319s (capacity 144 seats), two Airbus 320s (capacity 174 seats), six turboprop Dash 8-Q400s (capacity 76 seats) and a Fokker 100, which is on loan during the summer season (capacity 109 seats).
