Deutsche Post Revenue And Profit Rise; Confirms Outlook

German mailing and logistics company Deutsche Post AG (>> Deutsche Post AG) said Tuesday it remained on track for growth in the first quarter with increasing revenue and net profit, and confirmed guidance for the full year.

MAIN FACTS:

-First-quarter net profit jumped 64% on the year to EUR533 million, helped by a one-off effect from the sale of Deutsche Postbank AG (>> Deutsche Postbank AG).

-Earnings before interest and tax, or EBIT, from operating activities climbed 9.9% to EUR691 million.

-Revenue increased to EUR13.36 billion from EUR12.81 billion a year earlier, helped by the express division's strong growth in Asia and the Americas.

-Revenue in the mail division increased slightly, due to parcel business growth, but letter volumes declined slightly.

-The management confirmed full-year guidance of an EBIT between EUR2.5 billion and EUR2.6 billion.
