DP WORLD WINS GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD FOR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE
Hat trick of wins recognises the Company's business in India
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 5 May 2013:- DP World is the winner of the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Business Excellence for 2013 for its professionalism and quality operations across its five marine terminals in India.
The annual award was presented at a ceremony in Dubai in recognition of DP World's business practices in India. It marks the third year running that the company in India has won a Golden Peacock Award.
The ceremony, held during the Dubai Global Convention on Business Excellence at the Burj Al Arab (1-2 May), was attended by business leaders, jurists, academics, environmentalists, economists, legislators and policy makers.
H. E. Hon. Charles Gaetan Xavier-Luc Duval, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development of Mauritius presented the award to Anil Singh, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World Subcontinent Region. Also present was the Honourable K. M. Mani, Finance Minister of Kerala.
In 2012, DP World won the Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Responsibility in recognition of its responsiveness to the needs of different stakeholders and its ability to develop innovative partnerships to fulfil social responsibilities geared to the welfare of the communities in which it operates.
In 2011, DP World Nava Sheva, Mumbai won the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award, instituted by the World Environment Foundation, for its environmental initiatives such as "Hari Kranti" (Green Progress) campaign to plant
20,000 bamboo saplings in Ransai village of the Uran District in Maharashtra state.
