The eBay Classifieds Group is known for its history of successful acquisitions and organic growth, which have positioned it as the world leader in online classifieds.  The group continues to grow steadily and  now welcomes more than 200 million visitors to its sites every month.  Today, the eBay Classifieds Group is expanding its presence in Mexico with the acquisition of Vivanuncios.

Vivanuncios will join ten additional local brands in 24 countries around the world; alaMaula, BilBasen, DBA, eBay Classifieds/eBay Kleinanzeigen, Gumtree, Kijiji,  LoQUo, Marktplaats, mobile.de and 2dehands.be/2ememain.be.

Vivanuncios, founded in 2006, is a Spanish-language classifieds site in Mexico that is being acquired from W3 Ltd., a company  headquartered in London and New York that owns a host of comprehensive online services sites focused on everything from  accommodation to holiday rentals, real estate, jobs, friendships, dating and more.

Vivanuncios has an impressive brand presence and is a leading horizontal classifieds site in Mexico.  The business currently attracts more than 15 million visits per month and has more than half a million published ads (Q4 2014).

Given the brand recognition and success of Vivanuncios in Mexico, over the next several weeks eBay Classifieds Group will be migrating users of its current Mexico classifieds platform, iBazar, to the new Vivanuncios platform and will sunset the iBazar brand in Mexico. The iBazar team has seen great success since its launch in 2013, but it makes sense to merge the two sets of users and move forward under a cohesive brand that is well known to Mexican consumers:  Vivanuncios.

Latin America remains one of the highest potential regions for growth in ecommerce.  Utilizing the collective experience within the eBay Classifieds Group portfolio combined with the local knowledge and drive of the Vivanuncios team, eBay intends to build its latest success story.
