The Great Places to Work Institute is out today with its list of the 25 World's Best Multinational Workplaces, and eBay Inc. is honored to be on the list. The companies honored by the institute were required to meet stringent criteria for employee engagement and other factors, and eBay Inc. was number 24 on the list.

"We believe that having engaged and motivated employees is the only way that we can successfully serve our customers and drive business results," said John Donahoe, President and CEO of eBay Inc. "So ensuring eBay Inc. is a great place to work is one of our top business priorities. And it's more important than ever as we prepare to create two great companies."

Fortune recognized the companies honored on the Great Places to Work Institute's list in a story published today, and it noted the following about eBay Inc.:

"Current employees have participated in 'Be the Customer' drills, which include competitions for selling products through the company's auction site and by making PayPal transactions. The company also encourages 'open, honest and direct' feedback during meetings as one of its 'Shared Behaviors.'"

The top 25 companies honored on the World's Best Multinational Workplaces list stay in touch with employees through regular surveys and through other means. In some cases, they have implemented internal social networks for employees and other innovative tools.

The list of honored companies was truly global, with names ranging from Mars to Daimler Financial Services to Telefonica included. Among technology companies, EMC, NetApp, Cisco, Autodesk and Google were also on the list.
