Experian Automotive teams with Headline to provide a comprehensive view on more than a billion vehicles registered worldwide
Collaborative effort delivers vehicle information across more than 70 countries

Schaumburg, Ill., Nov. 03, 2014 - Experian Automotive today announced that it has teamed with Headline, an automotive data and software technology company, to provide the automotive industry with a more complete view of vehicles in operation around the globe. Through the combination of Experian Automotive's AutoCount Vehicles in OperationSM database and Headline's AutoStats4All, users now will have access to information on more than a billion vehicles across more than 70 countries and six regions, including Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. This level of insight not only will provide companies with a better understanding of the vehicles on the road at a global level, but also will give them the information they need to make the best business decisions.

"The automotive industry is growing at such an accelerated pace that it is imperative for automotive companies to have more than just a glimpse of the vehicle markets in a few select countries. It's the cornerstone of why we began our relationship with Headline," said Brad Smith, director of automotive market statistics for Experian Automotive. "By providing global vehicle registration data, we're able to help automotive-focused organizations understand the entire vehicle market and create actionable insights that can be used to identify potential growth opportunities across international borders."

Experian Automotive's AutoCount Vehicles in Operation database contains information on the more than 315 million vehicles on the road across North America. The database is coded to Auto Care Association standards and includes vehicle identification number-derived vehicle attributes for 1967 and newer vehicles.

AutoStats4All's database includes information on more than a billion light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles across six regions and 70 countries worldwide. Additionally, the database contains a global vehicle make/model table with more than 60 vehicle attributes that are coded to the Auto Care Association ACES standard and to the European TecDoc vehicle standards.

"By working with Experian, we're able to paint a more complete picture for our clients of how the global vehicle market is constructed," said Angelo van Hooren, director of marketing and sales for Headline. "We're confident that not only did we fill in the blanks for our clients, but that they will be able to help expand their business and improve profitability."

Experian Automotive will be demonstrating the combined global data capabilities at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), Nov. 4-6, in Las Vegas, booth #6134.
