Dr. Ellick Chan and Dr. Dustin Burns are presenting at the Inside Data Science Conference in Monterey, California on November 14-15, 2017. The two-day conference will focus on cyber security and insider threat and will feature presentations on data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, internet of things, and much more.
Dr. Chan and Dr. Burns' presentation is titled, 'Advancing Data Science to Defense.' The Department of Defense and other agencies have recently launched several initiatives using AI and machine learning to solve problems in cyber security, insider threat, geospatial analytics and analysis of video feeds. In this talk, Dr. Chan and Dr. Burns will describe how academia and industry are helping to meet the needs of these initiatives by providing cutting edge technology and a supporting educational curriculum to train data scientists to help solve problems in national security.
