UNIQLO Congratulates its Global Brand Ambassadors on Prestigious Accolades

UNIQLO today congratulates its Global Brand Ambassadors top ranked professional tennis player Kei Nishikori and wheelchair tennis world champion Shingo Kunieda on receiving prestigious accolades from the Government of Japan, on December 22. Kei Nishikori received the forty-seventh Japan Professional Sports Grand Prix from the Prime Minister of Japan and His Cabinet, and Shingo Kunieda the Sports Distinguished Service Award from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The accolades acknowledge the significant contribution the two have made to professional tennis, around the world.

Kei Nishikori said, "Thank you very much for the acknowledgement. This has been an eventful year - I placed second at the US Open, won in Japan, and for the first time made it to the ATP World Tour. I aim to take a Grand Slam win next year, and hope to inspire others to follow their dreams."

Shingo Kunieda said, "Japan offers few opportunities for those living with disability to dedicate themselves to professional sport. It is thanks to UNIQLO that I am able to compete professionally. I am who I am as a result of UNIQLO's support."
