Fast Retailing : UNIQLO Debuts LA-Inspired Collection from Jeans Innovation Center

UNIQLO today announces the debut of items from its Jeans Innovation Center, established in November 2016 in Los Angeles - the home of denim.

Focusing on the 3Fs: fabric, fit and finish - the key elements of jeans making - the center collaborates with the world's leading fabric makers, conducting R&D into the latest production technologies to create jeans that look exceptional and are comfortable to wear. The vision for the Jeans Innovation Center is to create the world's best jeans.

All items on debut are for the Fall/Winter 2017 collection, and take their inspiration from the popular jeans of Los Angeles.

A highlight of the new collection is the women's High Rise Cigarette Jeans. These straight-fit jeans flatter the figure by accentuating leg length, and employ Kaihara stretch denim to optimize comfort.

For men, a new line incorporates the Ultra Stretch fabric from Kaihara that has proved so popular among women. These jeans are the slimmest for men yet from UNIQLO, and are available in indigo and in lightly prewashed or aged black or white denim for more casual occasions.

Also available are Women's and Men's EZY Jeans, which feature a soft back pile fabric that makes them as comfortable as sweatpants. At the same time, they draw on special techniques from the Jeans Innovation Center to look like authentic vintage jeans. EZY Jeans also optimize comfort, featuring an adjustable elastic waistband to maintain a snug fit and eliminating the need for a belt, making them ideal for travel.
