Faurecia : For the second year, Faurecia participated to the Seamless IoT Commercialization Program

Seamless is a consortium of world-class industry leaders, Faurecia (Automotive), Steelcase (Office Furniture), Amway (Consumer Goods), Meijer (Large US Retailer), Spectrum Health (Health Care Provider), working as commercialization partners for IoT start-ups looking to accelerate business. Through Seamless partners, start-ups gain access to market insight and commercialization capacity, as global business resources are brought together with the visionary expertise of startups, making way for innovation.

Four IoT startups from around the world participated to this year's programme. They spent 12 weeks working with one of the six regional enterprises. On June 28th, all companies, global partners & start-ups, gathered to share the results of their 12 weeks of co-working.

Promethient, a start-up versed into heating & cooling systems, worked with Faurecia on developing a heated/cooled seat that features Graphene as a technical ingredient. The company's innovative material, graphene, is an effective and sustainable geothermal technology with great capability for personal heating and cooling.

Via the use of graphene and solid state heat pumping, thermal comfort can be maintained on a personalized basis. Users can adjust and monitor their personal comfort system using a mobile or computer app.
In addition, because heating or cooling the individual is more efficient than heating or cooling an entire environment, Promethient's technology can reduce its energy footprint.

At the end of the accelerating programme, two of the start-ups will receive follow up investments of $100K to further their business development.
