Two German production sites awarded energy management certification

04.03.2015

The two German production sites at Ettlingen and Jena are not only certified in accordance with the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standard, they now also have ISO 50001 energy management certification recognized by the TÜV-Süd testing organization.

All Feintool System Parts global operations are certified according to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001:2004. Feintool implements ongoing improvements to continually minimize the use of resources in its production processes, and aims to prevent emissions and waste as far as possible.

With their energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001, the two German fineblanking production facilities in Ettlingen  and Jena  are now focusing even more closely on energy-related services. By reducing the energy used in their manufacturing processes, they are saving resources and helping to protect the environment. At the Ettlingen plant, for example, the waste heat from compressed air is recycled, meaning that there is virtually no need to use heating oil to heat the production building.

This certification proves that both sites fully meet the high sustainability standards of the automotive industry. Two more German production facilities are planning to roll out the energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001. The forming plants in Obertshausen and Ohrdruf are aiming for certification this year.
