Chrysler Group LLC reports U.S. sales up 19% in September, the best September since 2005 and the 54th-consecutive month of year-over-year increases

Chrysler Group LLC today reported U.S. sales of 169,890 units for September, representing a
19% increase over the same month in 2013 (143,017 units) and the best September sales since
2005. The Chrysler, Jeep®, Ram Truck and Fiat brands all posted year-over-year increases.

"Continued consumer demand for our new Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, our Jeep models, and the Ram pickup truck helped Chrysler Group achieve a 19% sales increase in September and our 54th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth," said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales. "Chrysler Group sales continue to demonstrate strength as we recorded our seventh month of double-digit growth this year."


Jeep brand sales were up 47% for the month, representing the brand's best ever September sales, the 12th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains and the largest percentage gain for any Chrysler Group brand. The Jeep Wrangler, Compass and Patriot all posted record September sales.

Ram Truck brand sales, which include the Ram ProMaster van and Ram Cargo Van, were up

35%, the brand's best September since 2005. Sales of the Ram pickup were up 30%, representing its 53rd-consecutive month of year-over-year gains and best ever September performance. Ram Light Duty sales increased 21%, while Ram Heavy Duty pickups were up
49%. Cargo Van sales were up 13%, reaching a September record.
In order to keep up with the increase in demand for Ram vehicles, production at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan was increased by an average of 100 trucks a day or 28,585 a year.
Chrysler brand sales were up 14%, the brand's best September sales since 2007, driven by the Chrysler 200 and Chrysler Town & Country. Sales for the 200 were up 15%, its best ever September sales. The Town & Country posted a 23% increase, representing the minivan's best September sales in eight years.

Fiat brand sales, which include the 500 and Fiat 500L, were up 6%. Sales of the 500L resumed last week following a recall in the U.S. and Canada to replace knee air bags. Sales of the Fiat

500 were up 29% compared with September a year ago, representing the model's best
September sales since 2012.
Dodge brand sales were down 9% compared with September a year ago, with the Dodge Journey, Grand Caravan and Viper all recording year-over-year sales increases. Sales of the Grand Caravan were up 3%, the minivan's best September in two years. The Journey also logged its best September sales in two years. Viper sales were up 140%, reflecting the repositioning of the 2015 model.
