​DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 29, 2014 - Ford's Shani Allison was among 15 professionals honored earlier this month by Detroit Young Professionals (DYP) for their distinguished professional leadership and community service. She influenced the growth, prosperity and quality of life in Metro-Detroit and demonstrates the ability to positively impact the region through community involvement. DYP presented Allison with the Vanguard Award that recognizes accomplishments of outstanding entrepreneurs and young professionals growing and excelling in their respective fields.

Allison, a program management analyst who oversees the planning and implementation of complex systems related to the Ford Super Duty, is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Engineering Society of Detroit, the National Society of Black Engineers, and Society of Women Engineers. She also serves as a board member at her alma mater Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering Advisory Board for Engineering Diversity. In 2013, Allison was presented with the University's highest honor, The Distinguished Alumni Award. Earlier this year, Allison received the Jackie Robinson Foundation 42 Under 40 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Founded In 2007, DYP is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to develop the region's next generation of leaders by providing professional development, social networking and civic engagement opportunities.
