Fosun International : FONOVA Achieves Major Breakthrough in AI; Sets New Record at Global Medical Imaging Competition

On September 15, FONOVA, Fosun Group's specialty technology and innovation subsidiary came first in the LUNA ranking, a global medical imaging and analysis competition. FONOVA set a new record for its work in 'false positive reduction' with an average score of 0.966 and ranked first globally.

What is LUNA?

LUNA (LUng Nodule Analysis) is an internationally recognized analysis competition in the field of early pulmonary nodule detection for lung cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. LUNA is one of the most high profile projects related to diagnostic imaging analysis and uses data from multiple medical institutions in the US and annotations from numerous expert doctors.

Since the analysis challenge started in 2016, it has attracted a large number of teams from academic and industrial circles from China and abroad, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Alibaba, IFLYTEK and many emerging start-up companies.
