FPT : Overseas revenue increased by 36% in the first quarter of 2016

Ending the 1Q2016, FPT recorded VND 8,567 billion in revenue, fulfilling 101% of the target. Profit before tax (PBT) was VND 563 billion, exceeding the target by 10%. Profit after tax attributable to parent company's shareholders was VND 346 billion, fulfilling 104% of the target. Earnings per share (EPS) was VND 870, equal to 104% of the target.

Revenue and profit criteria have all exceeded the YTD target, yet lower than the prior year period due to higher investment in telecom infrastructure and the domestic market has yet to see recovery signal. Such factors were anticipated and reflected in the first quarter's plan.

It is expected that from the 3Q2016, investment in telecom infrastructure will lower and domestic-related segments including Software solutions, System integration and IT services will record higher revenue than the prior year period.

Software outsourcing and Retails segments continued to be highlights of the Company's business performance in 1Q2016. Specifically, Software outsourcing saw a 42% and 18% increase in revenue and PBT, equal to 104% and 100% of the YTD target, respectively. The Japan market - which have been FPT's largest overseas market, have adopted the highest growth rate in recent years with 57% growth versus 1Q2015.

Retails segment continued to deliver and impressive growth of 35% in revenue and 47% in PBT in the first quarter, equal to 107% and 105% of the targets, respectively.

The Going global strategy continued to bring positive results with overseas revenue increased by 36% YoY to VND 1,242 billion. PBT from overseas markets was VND 175 billion, increased impressively by 53% on a year-over-year basis.
