• The Energytruck, a large sustainable truck designed by the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum, offers a visual and interactive introduction to what energy is and how we can consume it responsibly.
  • On 26 and 27 June, this touring exhibition will arrive at the Gas Natural Fenosa headquarters in A Coruña, where it will be open to the public for free.

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum is bringing its touring exhibition on energy to the city of A Coruña next week, which will be open to the public for free on 26 and 27 June from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 20:00 at the Gas Natural Fenosa headquarters at 171 Avenida de Arteixo in A Coruña.

The Energytruck, which has visited more than 180 municipalities in Spain since January 2016, informs the general public about energy, the environment and industrial heritage in a fun and interactive way through educational activities run by specialised educators.

The aim of this Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation project is to contribute to the educational, environmental and cultural development of society, showing what energy is and how we can practice responsible energy consumption in a visual and interactive way. It looks back at the past to show the historic changes and social progress that followed the arrival of gas and electricity, and also looks forward to the future, to reveal what energy will be like in the years to come.

The truck is equipped with a natural gas twin engine that emits 15% to 20% less CO than conventional diesel engines.

The 70-square-metre mobile exhibition boasts a wide range of technological equipment, including audiovisual, interactive and multimedia content, as well as information panels. Visitors will be able to experiment with the content through practical activities centred around the visitors themselves. The project also includes workshops and educational activities led by specialised educators, who will share their knowledge of science and technology. The activities, which are free of charge, are suitable for all ages and adapted for people with disabilities.

The Energytruck is coming to Coruña following visits to other autonomous regions in Spain, including Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile-Leon, the Region of Madrid, Extremadura, Catalonia, the Region of Valencia, the Basque Country and La Rioja.

Since it was launched in January 2016, the Energytruck touring exhibition has been visited by over 94,870 people. More than 42,970 primary, secondary and vocational training students have taken part through their schools, and over 51,890 people have done so through various social groups or on days open to the public.

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation

Founded in 1992 by GAS NATURAL FENOSA and with a presence in every country where the company operates, the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation is tasked with educating, training and informing society, as well as raising its awareness of energy and environmental issues and developing business and academic programmes such as the First Export Programme. It also develops Social Action programmes both nationally and internationally, by influencing particular initiatives aimed at alleviating energy vulnerability. It promotes initiatives in the cultural sphere that are geared both to preserving and disseminating the historical heritage of the gas and electricity sector through the Gas Museum and the Bolarque Museum, educational programmes that it develops throughout Spain and its Historical Archives (considered one of the most representative in the country), as well as to educating and stimulating society artistically through the multi-disciplinary space in the Contemporary Art Museum.

The Gas Museum is a cultural centre combining a permanent exhibition with the organisation of temporary exhibitions, conferences, an educational programme for schools, activities for all audiences and film and music seasons. Since it was officially opened in 2012, it has served nearly 500,000 people, both at its headquarters in Sabadell and through activities organised in other municipalities.
