Earlier today, the Board of Directors of GAS NATURAL FENOSA approved the appointment of Rosa María Sanz as the new Managing Director of Resources and Member of the Management Committee to replace Antonio Gallart, who will assume the role of General Manager of Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE), the Chilean company acquired by GAS NATURAL FENOSA in November.

The new Managing Director of Resources, Rosa María Sanz, will assume her new duties on 1 April, with the challenge of continuing to promote the company's objectives in areas such as human resources, procurement, technology systems, safety, customer services, engineering and efficiency.

The company's Managing Director, Rafael Villaseca, highlighted the extraordinary contribution made by Antonio Gallart towards meeting the group's objectives during his time as Managing Director of Resources, a position he has held for the last eight years and in which time he was responsible for the company's efficiency plans, talent development plans and the organisational evolution of the group.

Rosa María Sanz (Plasencia, Cáceres, 1969) was Director of Global Accounts in the Wholesale Business Division, holding a number of different positions with links to energy markets over the last 16 years. She joined the group in 1999 from Compañía Operadora del Mercado Español de la Electricidad (the Spanish Electricity Market Operating Company). Her professional career began in the Operations Planning Department at Red Eléctrica de España.

Rosa Sanz has an Industrial Engineering Degree (specialising in electricity) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master's Degree in Electricity Sector Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She has completed a Senior Executive Programme at the ESADE Business School and the GAS NATURAL FENOSA Managerial Development Programme.

Antonio Gallart (Lleida, 1960) has been the Managing Director of Resources for GAS NATURAL FENOSA since 2007. His professional career began in the chemical sector, where he was Vice Chairman of Air Products and Chemicals, Division Director for the company Carburos Metálicos and general manager of a number of its subsidiaries. Since January, he has also been Director of Gasco, S.A., a subsidiary of the Chilean company CGE, following its takeover by Gas Natural Fenosa. Gallart has an Industrial Engineering Degree (specialising in industrial organisation) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and an MBA from the IESE Business School.
