The energy multinational commemorates World Environment Day with a series of initiatives designed to strengthen the company's commitment to biodiversity and the environment and to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency.

 GAS NATURAL FENOSA takes part in the commemoration of World Environment Day by organising a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the energy multinational's commitment to the environment and biodiversity and to make citizens aware of the importance of energy efficiency and savings. For the energy multinational, commitment to the environment occupies a prominent place in its Corporate Responsibility Policy.

Among other actions, and via its website www.gasnaturalfenosa.es, the company offers hand in hand with the scientist Dani Jiménez a series of tips to save energy and money at home, look after the environment and be more efficient.

The Foundation joins the World Environment Day

To commemorate the World Environment Day, the Foundation organises different activities to raise society's environmental awareness, among which is the conference "La energía del mañana" (Tomorrow's energy), part of the "Museo del Gas. Energía" (Gas Museum. Energy) travelling exhibition, given by Manuel Ludevid, from the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation.

The Foundation, via the Museo del Gas, has also taken part in the commemoration of the World Environment Day with an open day. With its social network profiles (Twitter and Facebook), it has organised an ideas competition to see how energy efficiency can be improved and how energy can be created which is continuous, economical and of a low environmental impact.

Furthermore, at 11.30 am on 8 June, the Plaza del Gas will be the venue for a series of recycling activities organised by the Luthiers Drapaires group, that will present different installations built based on old reused technological appliances, through which members of the public in attendance can discover different contraptions such as old high voltage antennas, a huge cassette recorder, VHS tape boxes and old switches or potentiometers turned into musical instruments.
Finally, on 22 June, there will be an activity in the Plaza del Gas relating to looking after the environment, where children will decorate plant pots and plant flowers to adorn ts balconies.

Commitment to the Environment

Aware of the importance of carrying out adequate environmental management which preserves the environment, for years GAS NATURAL FENOSA has been developing a business culture of respect and awareness raising for the environment that it passes along to its employees, customers, providers, suppliers and society in general. The company received different public acknowledgements in 2013 that emphasised the importance of its actions in the areas of social responsibility, sustainability and in favour of the environment, as well as its financial rigour.
The Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013, gave Gas Natural Fenosa the highest possible score 100/A, and for the first time it is at the top of the global rating given its approach in terms of climate change and for the second year running is at the forefront of utilities at world level.

Gas Natural Fenosa is also, according to the CDP Iberia 125 report of 2013, the highest rated company among Spanish and Portuguese companies to analyse performances in the area of climatic change.
