• The Energytruck, a large sustainable truck designed by the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum, offers a visual and interactive introduction to what energy is and how we can consume it responsibly.
  • It will be free to visit in Zamora (opposite the Culture Delegation), from this coming Monday, 10 October to Wednesday, 12 October. The exhibition goes on display in Benavente (Plaza de Santa María), on Thursday, 13 October and Friday, 14 October.

The Gas Museum of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation has designed an exhibition entitled Energytruck, a touring truck that will pass through 111 municipalities in Spain during 2016, providing information on energy, the environment and industrial heritage in a fun and interactive way through educational activities guided by specialist educators. This exhibition vehicle comes to Zamora province today, Monday, and will stay until Friday; spending five days in total visiting Benavente and Zamora capital.

The Energytruck will stay open to the public from Monday, 10 October to Wednesday, 12 October in Zamora (Avda. Requejo, 4, opposite the Culture Delegation) and then move to Plaza de Santa María, in Benavente, on Thursday and Friday. The public opening hours are from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm, alternating between the general public and pre-arranged visits of school children and various social groups.

The exhibition project is designed to contribute to the educational, environmental and cultural development of society, showing in a very visual and interactive way what energy is and how we can practice responsible energy consumption. It looks back at the past to show the historic changes and social progress that followed the arrival of gas and electricity, and also looks forward to the future, to reveal what energy will be like in years to come.

The truck is equipped with a natural gas twin engine that emits 15% to 20% less CO than conventional diesel engines.

The 70-square-metre mobile exhibition boasts a wide range of technological equipment, including audiovisual, interactive and multimedia content, as well as information panels. Visitors will be able to experiment with the content through practical activities centred around the visitors themselves. The project also includes workshops and educational activities led by specialised educators, who will impart their knowledge of science and technology. The activities, which will are free of charge, are suitable for all ages and adapted for people with disabilities.

The Energytruck is continuing its journey after having spent various weeks visiting the Basque Country, Galicia, the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Extremadura, Andalusia, Catalonia, the Autonomous Community of Valencia, La Rioja, Castile-La Mancha and other provinces in Castile and León. Since it was launched in January, the Energytruck touring exhibition has been visited by more than 41,300 people. In total, 15,593 primary, secondary and vocational training students have taken part, and over 25,736 people have done so through various social groups and open days.
