Gas Natural SDG : Fenosa, through its subsidiary GPG, wins its first power generation contract in Chile

• Global Power Generation (GPG) will invest 325 million euros to develop two projects with a mix of clean energies: the 204MW windfarm Cabo Leones II, and a 120MW photovoltaic solar park.

• This will be GAS NATURAL FENOSA's first photovoltaic project outside Spain.

• It is also the first power generation project in Chile for GAS NATURAL FENOSA.

Nearly a year after its arrival in Chile, Global Power Generation Chile (GPG Chile), owned by GAS NATURAL FENOSA and KIA, has made good on its commitment to enter the Chilean market after winning the Chilean government's 2015/01 supply tender for regulated customers (households and SMEs) where suppliers were bidding on a total of 12,350 GWh. This successful bid consolidates the interest of GAS NATURAL FENOSA and its subsidiary GPG in establishing a foothold in the Chilean market, as set forth in the energy multinational's latest Strategic Plan, which it presented in May.

This is the first power generation project in Chile for GAS NATURAL FENOSA, in which the company will eventually supply 858 GWh of electricity a year, entirely generated with renewable energy, with a mix of wind and solar power. The total investment planned for the development of both projects is 325 million euros. The Cabo Leones II windfarm belongs to GPG and Grupo Ibereólica.
