• The Energytruck - a large sustainable truck designed by the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum - will be in Priego de Córdoba, Pozoblanco and Cordoba in order to show, in a visual and interactive, manner what energy is and how we can consume it responsibly.
  • Admission is free and there are options for guided visits and school group visits, from Nursery to Upper Secondary School and Training Stage.

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum has designed the Energytruck exhibition, a touring truck that will pass through 111 municipalities in Spain during 2016, bringing information about energy, the environment and industrial heritage in a fun and interactive way through educational activities guided by specialist teachers.

The exhibition opens on Monday, 23 May, on Calle Carrera de Álvarez (in the car park opposite Paseo Colombia) in Priego de Córdoba to begin its journey through the province of Cordoba. Over the next few days, the exhibition will also be on Paseo Marcos Redondo (area opposite the Avenida Estación roundabout) in Pozoblanco and on Avenida de la Libertad (next to the Hotel Córdoba Center) in Cordoba.

The exhibition project is designed to contribute to the educational, environmental and cultural development of society, showing in a very visual and interactive way what energy is and how we can practice responsible energy consumption. It will take a look at the past to outline historical changes and the social progress that led to the arrival of gas and electricity, and also towards the future, to discover what energy will be like in years to come.

The truck is equipped with a natural gas twin engine that produces between 15% and 20% less carbon emissions compared to conventional gasoil engines.

The Energytruck is continuing its tour around Andalusia after already spending various weeks in Catalonia, Castile-Leon, the Region of Valencia, La Rioja and Castile-La Mancha.

Since it was launched, the Energytruck touring exhibition has been visited by approximately 19,100 people. In total, some 11,300 primary, secondary and vocational training students have taken part with their schools, and over 7,800 people have done so through various social groups on the open days.

Free educational activities

The mobile exhibition boasts a wide range of technological equipment within its space measuring 70 square meters, including audiovisual, interactive and multimedia content, as well as information boards. Visitors will be able to experiment with the content, through practical activities centred around the visitor themselves. The project will also oversee workshops and educational activities guided by special teachers, who will impart their knowledge of science and technology.

The activities, which will be given free of charge, are directed at all publics and are adapted for people with disabilities. Visitors may take part via independent or school group visits, which are organised for Nursery groups to Upper Secondary School and Training Stage groups. The group tasks will be adapted to each age group and the workshops will be made up of both a theoretical and practical part.
