FAIRFAX, Va., March 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has received an award to continue to provide and maintain high-quality software in support of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program which provides prosthetics, orthotics and supplies to Medicare beneficiaries. The single award has a potential value of approximately $75 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, General Dynamics will support, maintain and provide high-quality software used to process claims submitted by the program's suppliers. General Dynamics engineered the original CMS DME software and has been providing maintenance and support to the program for over two decades. Work on the contract will be performed in Towson, MD.
