GL Events : 2018 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES IN PYEONGCHANG, SOUTH KOREA

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games will take place from 9-25 February in the mountains of the PyeongChang region in South Korea.

There will be a record participation at this Winter's Games since more than 100 countries will be taking part, with a total of approximately 5,000 athletes and members of National Olympic Committees. Over the 17 days of competition, nearly 3,000 athletes will be competing in 15 different disciplines.

The Olympic Games facilities include twelve competition venues and a stadium devoted to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, spread across two main sites. The PyeongChang Olympic Plaza and Gangneung Olympic Park will also be hosting a variety of cultural events.

Jet Set Sports has teamed up with the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to create the 'New Horizons of Olympic Winter Games Experience ', a hospitality program for which the New Horizons Lounge was created.

GL events has installed the New Horizons Lounge in the Olympic Park. The Group was responsible for the design, the project management and the construction. This Pavilion groups together lounge, hospitality and restaurant areas covering a total surface of 680 sqm, with a capacity between 150 and 200 guests.

The New Horizons Lounge will be the meeting point for discerning spectators, who will be able to relax in an exclusive, refined and exceptionally well-appointed setting. A catering service offering high-quality, creative cuisine will be available throughout the day, and the many television screens installed in the Lounge will enable guests to follow all the sports competitions live.

Jet Set Sports chose GL events to carry out the following work:

- Construction work: foundations and facilities,

- Creation of a temporary structure covering 680 sqm based on customized steel containers laid out with bay windows, automatic doors, a kitchen area, lavatories, partitions and doors,

- Interior layout and furniture,

- Technical services: HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning), power supply, lighting, sound system …

- Branding.
