The ecological issues of the future at the heart of event.

ARCHITECT@WORK will take place from 14 to 15 February at the CCIB in Barcelona. The event brings together trade professionals who are looking for new ideas and who want to keep up to date with the latest developments in the sector.

Visitors to the fair will discover a unique and innovative layout. The objective is to create immediate, constant contact between the exhibitors and visitors. The exhibition is designed as a circuit where the visitors' initial contact takes place on an exhibition stand.

At ARCHITECT@WORK, the traditional aisles are replaced by specially laid-out spaces where people can get together for a drink, or to talk and present innovative products or services.

The exhibitors are made up of manufacturers, importers or distributors of products from various sectors:

- equipment: lighting, plumbing, electricity, renewable energy, etc.

- exterior fittings: carpentry, façades, insulation, roofing, structures, etc.

- interior fittings: decorations, wall and floor coverings, partitions, paints, etc.

- services related to new technologies

- trade organisations and associations

The fair gives professionals with highly specific trades a unique opportunity to get together and share ideas: architects, designers, engineers, urban planners, real estate developers and government organisations.

Several conferences will be given by experts over the course of the 2 days. David Baena, from BCQ QCB Arquitectura Barcelona, will explain why 'Wood is back' in different areas such as construction and decoration. Gus Wüstemann, the founder of Gus Wüstemann Architects, will chair a conference on the subject of 'Total Recall - Reference to what is essential' and Josep Ferrando Bramona - from Josep Ferrando Architecture - will reveal the 'Reasons for similarity and repetition'.

At the same time, visitors will be able take advantage of several events during the fair. The 'Project Wall by world-architects.com' travelling exhibition will highlight projects by architects from around the world in order to present an overview of the industry, including young up-and-coming architects and major international figures in the sector.

At the 'Pop-up Bookshop by Cooperativa d'Arquitectes Jordi Capell', visitors will find a selection of the best books in the field of architecture. Finally, the exhibition 'Future woods. Earth & Mars by Materfad' will present a vision of the future, both on the Earth and on Mars, through photographs of landscapes, projects and innovations.

ARCHITECT@WORK provides an opportunity for trade professionals to meet and keep up to date on the major environmental issues related to architecture. After the exhibition in Spain, the fair will be moving on to other major cities, including Toronto in April, Copenhagen in May and Paris in September.
