(Stock code: 00809) INSIDE INFORMATION ALLEGED INFRINGEMENT OF PATENT IN THE NETHERLANDS

The Relevant Group Members received the Judgment dated 10 September 2014 whereby the Court has rejected all the Plaintiff's claim in respect of an alleged infringement by the Relevant Group Members of patent numbered EP 1.664.318 (entitled "L-amino acid-producing micro-organism and method for producing L-amino acid") and has allowed part of the counterclaim made by the Relevant Group Members.

This announcement is made by Global Bio-chem Technology Group Company Limited (the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group ") pursuant to Rule 13.09 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and Inside Information Provisions under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
The board ("Board") of directors ("Directors") of the Company hereby announces that the Company and three of its subsidiaries ("Relevant Group Members") received judgment (the "Judgment") dated 10 September 2014 from the District Court of The Hague, the Netherlands (" Court " ) which has rejected all the claims made by Ajinomoto Co. Inc. and Ajinomoto Eurolysine S.A.S. ("Plaintiffs") in respect of an alleged infringement by the Relevant Group Members of patent numbered EP 1.664.318 (entitled "L-amino acid-producing micro-organism and method for producing L-amino acid") ("Relevant Patent").
Pursuant to the Judgment, the Court ordered that the claims made by the Plaintiff are rejected and the Plaintiffs are ordered to pay the legal costs of the Relevant Group Members amounted to
90,387.05 Euro which payment is immediately enforceable.

Further, the Court has also allowed part of the counterclaim made by the Relevant Group Members whereby part of the subject matter of the Relevant Patent is nullified and the Plaintiff and the Relevant Group Members shall bear their own legal costs in respect of the counterclaim.
As advised by the legal advisers to the Relevant Group Members as to the Netherlands laws, the parties may apply for an appeal in respect of the Judgment within three months after the date of the Judgment, failing which the Judgment shall be regarded as final.
Further announcement(s) will be made by the Company on any significant development regarding the above legal proceedings.
