CPT is delighted to announce that Martin Dean, Managing Director, Bus Development at the Go-Ahead Group has been appointed CPT President for 2018. He takes over from Ian Luckett, Director of Lucketts Travel.

Speaking about his appointment, Martin Dean said:

'I am honoured to have been appointed CPT President for 2018. The coming year will be an exciting and challenging, time for all involved in our sector. Operators have renewed impetus to engage with their local authority partners to make use of the new legislation and to contribute to plans designed to improve local air quality. Working together in partnership is the key to delivering high quality services for customers which can encourage modal shift, which in turn can make real and lasting improvements to our environment.

I look forward to working with CPT staff and members across the country to continue improving services for customers and communicating more widely the benefits of bus and coach travel to the national and local economy.

I should also like to pay tribute to my predecessor, Ian Luckett, for his commitment to CPT during 2017.'

CPT Chairman, Ian Morgan, said:

'I am very pleased that Martin has agreed to take on the role of CPT President for the coming year. Martin has a wealth of experience in the industry and through his role at Go Ahead has made a huge contribution to the work of CPT during recent bus policy developments and through its Committee structure over many years. Along with all CPT members and staff, I am very much looking forward to working with Martin over the next 12 months.'

Martin Dean's appointment was confirmed ahead of the CPT's Annual Dinner to be held at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel this evening.
