Gooch & Housego : 22 Feb 17 – Appointment of Non-Executive Director

("G&H" or the "Company")

Gooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of optical components and systems, is pleased to announce that David Bauernfeind has been appointed to the Company's Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st May, 2017. David will also chair the Audit Committee.

David has extensive experience of finance and strategic leadership roles in a range of sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Industrial, Technology and Support Services, Publishing and Distribution. He brings substantial expertise in M&A and large deal structuring.

David is currently Chief Financial Officer and Board member of Connect Group plc.

Previously, David was Chief Financial Officer and Board member of Xchanging plc and instrumental in the successful sale of the Group to CSC in June 2016.

David holds a BSc from the University of Wales and is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
