Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that they have been named to the Forbes list of 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America.

“This recognition is a testament to our employees who consistently demonstrate their commitment to our Core Values and Code of Conduct,” said James Roberts, president and chief executive officer, Granite Construction Incorporated. “It is this commitment, combined with our ongoing investment and dedication to comprehensive internal controls, which has earned us a reputation as one of the most trusted partners in the construction industry.”

To create this list, MSCI ESG Research screened more than 5,500 publicly-traded North American companies to identify the 100 of those which most “consistently demonstrated transparent accounting practices and solid corporate governance.”

The companies on the list have the strongest AGRs—“Aggressive Accounting and Governance Risk”—the composite scores by which organizations are judged. Factors considered include high risk behaviors like regulatory actions, amended filings, revenue and expense recognition methods, and bankruptcy risk. Companies are scored on a 1 to 100 point scale, with 70 being the lowest score to crack this year’s list.
