Staring from 15 October 2014, a new branch of JSC Halyk Bank Georgia (hereinafter - the Bank, HBG) - "Gldani" will be operational in Tbilisi, locating at: 51, Vekua str., Tbilisi, being the fifth branch opened in Georgia. Also, after three years of Batumi branch successful operation, the Bank has decided to purchase its own building locating at: 49, Vakhtang Gorgasali str., Batumi, which from 16 October this year will host Batumi branch of JSC Halyk Bank Georgia

The Bank is actively lending to small and medium-sized businesses, deals with the corporate customers and participates in the agro-lending grace program and "Produced in Georgia" program as well.

HBG provides the whole range of banking services in the market - retail and business loans, deposits, cash settlement services, money transfers, remote banking services.

In 2014, the bank raised its status from Associate to Principal member of the international payment system VISA and joined the international payment system MasterCard, whose cards the Bank will be expected to issue in 2015. The Bank has its own ATM and POS-terminal network and is one of eight banks in Georgia that take the benefit of the services of UFC, an independent processing center, thereby serving to our customers with 450 ATMs and 3,500 POS-terminals at reduced fee rates charged by these banks for card service, and merchants, who are HBG customers. Until the end of 2014, the Bank plans to issue credit cards, upgrade Internet Banking system for providing services to individuals and legal entities.

At present, the share of HBG assets in the Georgian banking market made up 0.76%, which corresponded to the 13th market place. The Bank's assets as of 1 October totaled more than USD 85 million, including loan portfolio amounting to USD 58 million. During the nine months, the Bank increased the portfolio by 25% with 3.1% reserve rate being one of the lowest in the market. The Bank pursues its activity in line with the targeted goals outlined in the medium-term development strategy. The Bank shows stable growth and strong financial performance.

According to Mr. Nikoloz Geguchadze, Director General, the Bank provides to both individuals and the business sector the best service and a wide range of banking products and services. JSC Halyk Bank Georgia holds its niche in the domestic banking market and offers its customers banking products under excellent conditions.

REFERENCE. As 01.07.14, there are 21 commercial banks operating in the Georgian market, including 19 foreign-owned banks (three of them are subsidiaries of foreign banks). Among financial institutions, other than commercial banks, 17 credit unions, 71 microfinance institutions, a stock exchange, 14 insurance companies and 5 pension funds are operating in Georgia. The total assets of Georgian commercial banks amount to more than USD 10 billion, including loan portfolio of USD 6.4 billion, non-bank deposits  - USD 5.8 billion. Also, there are 767 service centers and branches, 2,100 ATMs and 15,624 POS-terminals. The share of assets of the top two banks in Georgia remains high - 57%. The "five" top banks account for 76%.
