Hammerson brings CAU and COSMO to WestQuay Watermark in Southampton

02.09.2015

Hammerson is pleased to announce that it has secured new restaurants, COSMO and CAU to join the dining offer at WestQuay Watermark, its £80 million retail and leisure development in Southampton, giving both restaurants their debut in the city.

COSMO, one of the UK's fastest-growing world banqueting chains, will take an 11,700 sq ft unit that will be located on the level above the upper promenade in the scheme. The restaurant will serve 150 freshly prepared dishes from around the world, with live cooking stations which will provide entertainment, as well sounds and aromas, enabling diners to immerse themselves in the experience.

Inspired by the vibrancy of Buenos Aires, international restaurateur, CAU offers its customers an all-day dining menu, specialising in steaks, burgers and small plates, and will take a
3,152 sq ft unit situated on the lower promenade of the scheme.

Securing both COSMO and CAU, in addition to Cabana, the Brazilian barbeque restaurant, which signed up to take space at the scheme in July, is further evidence of Hammerson's ability to attract new, international restaurants into Southampton.

WestQuay Watermark, which is due to open in late 2016, is set to be the city's new dining and leisure destination and also forms part of the centrepiece of Southampton City Council's VIP 'Heart of the City' project, as identified within its City Centre Master Plan that promotes its vision for the city.

Sarah Fox, Head of Restaurants and Leisure at Hammerson, commented: "We are delighted that COSMO and CAU have chosen to debut at WestQuay Watermark in Southampton. Both restaurants offer customers a new and exciting dining experience and are great additions to the diverse line-up of restaurants that will be on offer at the city's new dining and leisure hub."

A COSMO spokesperson, said: "We are very excited about this project and look forward to welcoming local residents into our restaurant and introducing them to the very best that COSMO has to offer."

A spokesperson for CAU added: "Having already established a successful site in The Oracle, Reading with Hammerson we're delighted to be working with them on this project."
