Hawaiian Airlines Appoints Todd Jewell to Managing Director - Training & Development

HONOLULU - Hawaiian Airlines has announced the appointment of Todd Jewell to the position of managing director - training & development. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the company's operational and development training division to meet the needs of its more than 5,000 employees.

"Leadership and organizational training and development is vital as our business continues to expand, so we are fortunate to have attracted Todd into our ranks to lead our efforts in this area" said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian Airlines president and chief executive officer. "We look forward to him leading the training and development team."

Jewell has more than 30 years of leadership and training experience. Prior to joining Hawaiian Airlines, he served as president of Aircrew Training Solutions LLC where he developed training programs for clients. He also completed a 19-year career with United Airlines where he held various positions including line pilot, flight instructor/check airman, and manager of training programs overseeing pilot and flight attendant training development as well as FAA part 142 contract training programs. Additionally, he served as a captain on the A320 aircraft and first officer on the B747 and B737 aircraft. Jewell also completed a career in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, serving as a command pilot in the F-16 and OV-10, and retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He held various positions in the USAF/ANG, including director - flight standards and evaluations, director - maintenance quality assurance, and aircraft accident investigator.

Jewell holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. He also attended graduate school at Chaminade University in Honolulu and the U.S. Air Force Safety School at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico.
