Safety landmark reached in Taiwan

25 July, 2014

Employees at our Jhunan cigarette factory are celebrating a new safety milestone of more than 1,000 days with zero time lost to accidents.

This places the site in Taiwan amongst our top performing manufacturing locations in terms of workplace health and safety.

Sam Cheng, Occupational Health Safety & Environment and Continuous Improvement Manager, said: "I'm proud to see the total commitment to safety demonstrated by all our employees, even out-sourced cleaning staff.

"This is the key to this achievement as everyone actively reports all issues that could affect our well-being on a daily basis.

"There are no second chances with safety and we've ensured there's a clear focus on keeping everyone safe whilst they're on our premises. This has seen our safety management consistently improve and I'm determined this will continue."

Not content with this impressive achievement, employees have embarked on road safety and fire safety training as they start their journey to the next milestone.
