Implenia adjusts capacities in urban civil works business - Measures taken to mitigate social impact

Dietlikon, 23 May 2017 - Implenia continuously adjusts its capacities in line with the current market situation. At the beginning of the year, the Group brought together its operational units in the regional business in Switzerland under a single roof. In certain regions, however, long-term success can only be achieved if capacities are adjusted to economic circumstances. These adjustments affect the branches of the Business Unit Implenia Construction Switzerland in Basel, Bern and the south-east Switzerland region. Implenia Construction Switzerland is involved in road and civil works.

"We have overcapacities in the urban civil works sector in the regions concerned. The adjustments will ensure the successful continuation of this business in these regions," says André Métral, Head of Business Unit Implenia Construction Switzerland. The Group will strive to take these steps in the most socially responsible way possible, with mitigating measures including social plans and early retirement packages.
