ANNOUNCEMENT ON RESIGNATION OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Mr. Qian Wenhui, the chairman of the board of supervisors of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (the "Bank") has resigned as supervisor and chairman of the board of supervisors of the Bank due to change in job assignment by tendering his resignation to the board of supervisors of the Bank on 5 January 2018. The resignation of Mr. Qian Wenhui took effect from 5 January 2018.

Mr. Qian Wenhui has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board of supervisors of the Bank and there are no matters relating to his resignation that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders and creditors of the Bank.

Mr. Qian Wenhui performed his duties diligently and conscientiously since he has assumed the position as supervisor and chairman of the board of supervisors of the Bank, led the board of supervisors of the Bank in effectively performing its supervisory duties, and has made outstanding contributions in areas including corporate governance, operation of the board of supervisors, sound and effective supervision mechanism, improvement of strategy and capital effectiveness, risk management, internal control and corporate culture fostering, promotion of healthy and sustainable development of the Bank, as well as protection of the interests of the company and shareholders. The board of supervisors of the Bank would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Qian Wenhui for his outstanding contributions to the Bank during his tenure of service.
