TOKYO-July 19, 2011-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the July 21, 2011, release of the "IIJmio FiberAccess/NF Service" for individual customers.

This service is compatible with FLET'S HIKARI Next's Internet (IPv6 IpoE) Connection (formally the NGN IPv6 Native Connection) scheduled to be released on July 21, 2011, by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West). The IPoE connection protocol obviates the need to install a dedicated IPv6 adaptor or reconfigure existing equipment at the customer's residence, making it very easy to create an IPv6 connection environment.

The IIJmio FiberAccess/NF service uses the transix service by INTERNET MULTIFEED CO. to provide an IPv6 connection compatible with NTT East and West's Internet (IPv6 IPoE) Connection.

IIJ is already providing both corporations and individuals with an IPv6 connectivity environment that is compatible with FLET'S HIKARI Next's Internet (IPv6 PPPoE) Connection. With the introduction of the IIJmio FiberAccess/NF service, IIJ helps individual customers to make a smooth switch to the IPv6 environment, and we will continue to promote the adoption of IPv6 through the active development of new services and better features.
