At the start of the 2018 fiscal year, Jenoptik welcomed around 600 guests to this year's New Year's reception in Jena. The guests have already donated around 6,700 euros to the KLEX Children and Youth Center.

On February 6, 2018 Jenoptik invited to the 27th New Year's Reception at the Jena Volkshaus. In addition to numerous Jenoptik employees, around 600 guests included members of the Supervisory Board and the Group Works Council as well as customers and partners from business, science and culture. The Jenoptik board members Stefan Traeger and Hans-Dieter Schumacher welcomed the prime minister Bodo Ramelow, finance minister Heike Taubert and economics minister Wolfgang Tiefensee of the state of Thuringia as the main shareholder's representatives.

At the beginning, Stefan Traeger told the guests about many conversations he held with employees and customers after taking up his post as the new President & CEO of JENOPTIK AG in May 2017. The impressions gained from these discussions and analyses of the operative business were taken into account when further developing the group strategy, which was announced by the Executive Board prior to the New Year's reception. Jenoptik will focus even more strongly on its core competencies in photonics in the future. Stefan Traeger thanked Jenoptik employees and partners for their contribution to the successful 2017 fiscal year, for which the preliminary figures were published.

After two greetings by prime minister Bodo Ramelow and Lord Mayor of Jena Albrecht Schröter, moderated by Susann Reichenbach, the LED dance group 'Evil Riders' rounded off the program with a bright performance.

Jenoptik has once again used the New Year's reception as an opportunity to ask the guests for a donation for a charitable purpose. This year, the donations will be donated to the KLEX Children and Youth Center of KOMME e. V. This association in the Jena district of Lobeda is committed to integration work in everyday life and offers children and young people a wide range of leisure, learning and employment opportunities. Donations from the New Year's Reception are intended to help fund new learning and play materials, events and employee training.

At the reception, Conny Kaulfuss, project manager at KLEX, was delighted with the evening's donation of 6,705 euros. Many thanks to all donors!
