Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR) announced today that Christine “Chris” Theros Mullins will join the company in October as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Mullins will report directly to Joseph P. Lacher, Jr., Kemper’s President and Chief Executive Officer. She replaces Lisa M. King, who recently announced her plans to retire after more than 35 years with the company.

For the past two years Mullins was Partner at CEO.works where she was a senior executive in the human resources practice. She spent the prior eight years with Zurich Insurance Group, where her human resources leadership roles included supporting the North America and global insurance businesses. Mullins began her career with Motorola, where she spent more than twenty years in roles of increasing responsibility, including Corporate Vice President of Human Resources.

She brings extensive human resources leadership experience in the insurance and financial services sectors,” said Lacher. “I’d also like to thank Lisa for many years of service and contributions to Kemper. Mullins earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
