Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is proud to announce the worldwide release of "METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES" ("GROUND ZEROES"), the newest title in the METAL GEAR series, while "GROUND ZEROES" hits stores in Japan on Thursday, March 20. Coinciding with its launch, a smartphone and tablet app that interfaces with "GROUND ZEROES" will be released. The METAL GEAR series has sold over 36.3 million units to date*.
The latest game from acclaimed director Hideo Kojima, "GROUND ZEROES" is the prologue to "METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN" (currently in development), which will continue the story across a vast open world. "GROUND ZEROES" offers players the most thrilling stealth experience yet, inviting players to choose their own infiltration and escape routes with an unprecedented level of tactical freedom as they marvel at stunning photorealistic graphics almost indistinguishable from live footage.
In addition, players can link "GROUND ZEROES" to the mobile app, which displays the in-game map in real time on their smartphone or tablet, complete with the player's current position and the movements of any enemies the player has marked. This provides a unique sense of immersion as players can glance down at the map while on the move, similar to how the main character would need to look at it in-game. The app also contains an exclusive simulation game, and players who link it to "GROUND ZEROES" will gain access to extra features such as new characters and items.
