Experiencing The Real Internet of Things: Company to Provide Live Demonstrations of Award-winning ZANO Autonomous Drone, Tools and Solutions to Accelerate IoT Deployments

Irvine, Calif. - February 18, 2015 - Lantronix, Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX), a leading global provider of smart IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity solutions, today announced it will be providing live demonstrations of its xPico® Wi-Fi® and PremierWave® product families, its support for Python scripting language, and more at the Embedded World 2015 show to be held from February 24-26, 2015 in Nürnberg, Germany.  Lantronix' booth will be located in Hall 5, Booth 451 at the M2M Pavilion in Nürnberg Exhibition Centre.

The company will also showcase several Lantronix IoT-enabled product applications, including the award-winning xPico Wi-Fi-powered Torquing ZANO autonomous drone and a PremierWave EN-powered humanoid robot.  Additionally, Lantronix will demonstrate factory provisioning of the xPico Wi-Fi module in a manufacturing floor setting, as well as the integration into a cloud-based device management platform.

"Over the past few years, Lantronix has launched cutting edge IoT and M2M enablement solutions at Embedded World," said Kurt Busch, president and chief executive officer for Lantronix.  "This year, we're demonstrating how our innovative products are fueling the progression of the IoT market - from concepts and product development to full blown production.  With more than two decades of experience as a pioneer in smart networking solutions, we look forward to Embedded World and showcasing how our solutions can assist companies to quickly, easily, and securely enable their devices and applications to join the Internet of Things."

xPico Wi-Fi:  Taking Drones to New Heights
The Lantronix xPico Wi-Fi provides secure, onboard Wi-Fi technology for the ZANO drone, an aerial photography and HD video capture nano platform developed by Torquing Group Ltd that allows users to instantly begin capturing and sharing moments like never before.  Lantronix and Torquing jointly unveiled the ZANO at CES 2015, where it won several awards including Best in Show by CESLive and Best in Show by iPhone/iPad Life Magazine.

The palm-sized ZANO uses the xPico Wi-Fi module to provide secure and direct connectivity to both iOS and Android devices, which enables users to communicate with and control the ZANO.  From a smartphone or tablet, users can either direct ZANO or set the intelligent nano drone to automatically follow the user and capture photos from a fixed distance.  A multitude of sensors work seamlessly together to allow ZANO to avoid obstacles, hold its position, and know exactly where it is in conjunction with a smart handheld device, at all times.

"The era of the drone is here, and we're thrilled to partner with Lantronix to introduce the product to our European counterparts at this year's Embedded World," said Reece Crowther, director of sales and marketing for Torquing.  "Since our initial Kickstarter campaign in December and product launch at CES 2015, our ZANO product family has been met with accolades and pre-orders that have far surpassed our expectations.  Now, as we move into full production, we look forward to our continued partnership with Lantronix as we execute on our near and long-term product roadmap."

xPico Wi-Fi:  IoT on the Manufacturing Floor and in Deployment
Lantronix will demonstrate the easy process for factory provisioning the xPico Wi-Fi enabled product in a manufacturing test floor setting using a smartphone application during deployment to complete the provisioning process and registration to a cloud platform.  The xPico Wi-Fi device boasts a tiny footprint of 24mm x 16.5mm, provides a low power, full IP stack and complete device server solution - making it ideal for IoT and M2M applications requiring direct access to data and equipment via any mobile device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer).

Intelligent IoT Gateways:  Leveraging Python for Cloud Connection and Intelligence at the Edge
Lantronix will demonstrate the ability to configure its PremierWave XN  Wi-Fi Intelligent Gateway and Application platform from a central, cloud-based system and remotely controlling it for basic device management capabilities. Python runtime support enables developers to easily add local computing and analytics for Fog Computing applications, interface with cloud IoT and analytics platforms such as Google Universal Analytics or perform various protocol translations critical to deploying Internet of Things solutions. One can now create scalable and secure M2M applications quickly while leveraging security, network connectivity and device management capabilities of the underlying ruggedized Lantronix Intelligent IoT Gateways.

PremierWave:  Powering Interactive Robots
The Company will demonstrate the PremierWave EN-powered humanoid robot, developed by Japan-based Kondo Kagaku.   This wirelessly-controlled Kondo robot emulates human-like movements including walking, tumbling, step climbing, back flipping, and dancing.  Acting as the compute and connectivity engine for the robot, the Lantronix PremierWave EN system-on-module (SOM) enables the use of the robot's camera, controls for body movements, and more.

In addition to the in-booth demonstrations, Lantronix will also provide live production demonstrations along with its European partners - including, Atlantik Elektronik, Arrow Electronics, Acal BFI, SPHINX Connect, and HY-LINE.
